hey fei-

Hey, Dianna. If you want height minus the pain, get a pair of heels with a platform. You'll feel less like you're wearing a tortuous pair of shoes, but still be miles high. Or get a low wedge style if you're not too comfortable wearing regular heels--more balance as your weight is carried on the wedge--but super high wedges can make you feel like you're about to topple over. Don't shop for shoes in the morning. Your feet expand throughout the day, and you don't want to end up with something too tight.
One style of high-heeled sandals that I'm diggin' right now is the gladiator:

Dior Extreme Sandal
The reason I love it? So versatile! It's a pretty trendy shoe right now. You can wear it cas or dress it up. Sarah Jessica Parker did it best:

Steve Madden has a copy of this style for $110.
Then there's a more strappy and delicate version:

Jimmy Choo patent
Looks kinda wonky there, but you get the picture. And just so you can see it incorporated into different outfits on different ladies:

A grungey versus a more polished night out. I can see them paired with skinny jeans and shorts too. Here's a bunch more affordable versions of this style:

I've got my eye on a pair of Prada ones at the moment. I can't wait to get my Balenciaga with chunky hardware to pair it with! *drool*
Fuck makeup. Give me designer duds!
Who doesn't love a sale? eLUXURY is holding an "insider" sale event--markdowns up to 40% off. I believe it lasts from Aug 11th to Sept 11th.

Then there are those invitation-only shops that hold not-really-that-exclusive-but-you-still-have-to-have-a-membership sales, like Ideeli, Gilt Groupe, Rue La La, and GlamList. I think these stores usually have a no-refunds, but you can return it for store credit policy. I'm a member of a few, but have yet to purchase anything. Items are in limited quantities and I don't always love what I see. Their sales are on-going.
BlueBee.com has a sale going on now till Sept 2nd. You know you dig those designer jeans, so check that out. The longer you wait, the greater the amount they'll reduce, but they just might run out of what you want. Note: No returns or exchanges, so you better know what you want.

Barneys is also holding a sale! Up to 75% off. You know you want a new pair of hot shoes.

Last, but not least, Off 5th Saks is having it's BIG SALE. This one's in-store.

Ever want to wear stockings with your peep toes, but so sad that you can't show off your toes?

American Apparel Opaque Over-the-Knee Tri-Tone Footless Sock ($12)
Now you don't have to retire your open toed shoes just because it's chilly.
Sorry to be such an enabler... :)
